About Dr. Eggenberger
"My journey started in 2002. I was working as an associate creative director in one of Miami’s top Hispanic agencies. I had one of those “dream jobs” where I got to travel around the world and enjoy the perks of a high-pay, fast-paced job. Although I was earning quite a lot for a person my age, the high-stress demands of my work started taking a toll on my health. My eating habits were disastrous, I smoked a pack a day, and I was not sleeping. Stressed, exhausted, and depressed, I was not enjoying my work anymore.
I finally reached my limit when, after a couple of months of regular weekly visits to my doctor, he finally said to me:
“Michelle, you have asthma and you will need to take steroids for the rest of your life.” I was not even 30 at the time and something deep in my soul told me that this could not be it, that I needed to do something before it was too late. A friend of mine recommended I try acupuncture. And so, my journey into true healing began.
I went to my acupuncturist without fail, started doing yoga regularly, and began changing my eating habits. After one year of acupuncture visits, my asthma was gone, I had stopped smoking, and I was left with a life’s purpose:
“If I can do this for someone else, THIS is what I want to do.”
Since then, I quit my job and became certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) as a doctor of Oriental Medicine and an Acupuncturist, became a certified yoga instructor of Kripalu and Dharma yoga under my teacher Sri Dharma Mittra, and got certified as an Integrative Nutrition Health Coach.
I have learned that life is not a one fits all solutions and each of us goes through different things in life that influence our decision making process. Coming from this point of view you can be more tolerant, more understanding and therefore start from where your patient is and not where you would want them to be. I believe this understanding allows me to help you reconnect to that part of you which you have forgotten and brings dis-ease to your body. I have realized the importance of being able to see you and fully appreciate your beauty and uniqueness so you can see it in yourself. To see you without judgement and with unconditional love.
I opened my practice in 2008 and since then, I have had the privilege of helping hundreds of people find true healing and a deeper connection into themselves.
It is my deepest and most sincere desire to help you and anyone who comes through the clinic, reconnect with the true healing power that lives within you, and find the tools necessary to not just feel better but have a profound healing transformation."
